The Five People you meet in Heaven: Five meanings of Life
I came upon this book two months ago when I moved into a new place and found it left by previous residents. The fascination comes naturally coming from a religious background. Heaven’s description has been described as delightful in my past but a little far-fetched so when I saw this, it seemed like the answers that are about to be discovered. This book was sheer joy to read as it drew attention immediately and divided into five major parts so I never put it down for a minute and finished it. It’s about a war veteran named Eddie who had a rough life but lived through most of it with responsibility. All of his life has been explained through the mode of five phases in heaven after he dies at the age of eighty third by accident at Ruby Pier circus trying to save a girl.

The Blue man: Everything is connected
The first man who Eddie didn’t recognize at first explains how everything is connected to each other by telling Eddie that he died because of him. He was an odd man who turned blue by accident and how he didn’t use to fit into the world and found a place to fit into which was ruby pier which Eddie’s father worked at. Eddie was a mere boy when he saw that blue man there and Eddie got saved because of him. He explained the balance of nature that if someone has to live others have to die and we make a mistake only when we think we are alone in the world but it is due to nature which makes everyone connected to each other.
Captain: Forgiveness
The second person Eddie met was the captain of his station where he went to war. This part explains all the hardships that came with the war where from disease to nearly dying accidents. This phase was hard for Eddie as the captain has to shoot Eddie’s leg to save him from dying in the fire. Somehow, Eddie was always a little bit frustrated with the captain on being shot as he had to return home and went through a pretty tough time because of it. So in this part he finally asks for forgiveness as even if he shot Eddie but it saved his life and Eddie does so.
Ruby: Letting out the long lasting anger
The third was important for Eddie to meet to understand the point of view of others and journey of them. He got to know the life of his dad through someone else named ruby who told Eddie about the hardship that his dad went through in life. He was so resentful toward his dad his whole life because he only saw him drinking and not taking care of the family but in the end he had to let go off all the anger for his own betterment even at the end he says that he didn’t know that you went through all of this but I am forgiving you.
Marguerite: Love forever
The love of his life that he has been desperately waiting for to meet when he came to heaven finally came. She was the girl who he fell in love with in the first look and stayed with her until the very end. While reading this I got to connect with the characters on a very spiritual path where every hurdle in the road leads to making the relationship more powerful. When he meets her in heaven she is her young self so beautiful just like the first time he saw her. The point connected to me the most was even in the end he asked her to look like the very end of her time on earth and she said to him that she wasn’t as beautiful but to him she was always beautiful.
Tala: Eternal resting stop
Last he met a little girl who told him that the hands that he felt toward the end of time were hers to bring him to heaven where he can rest in peace. He finally meets all those people who he saved as a handy man working at ruby pier. They were clapping in the end for Eddie and finally Eddie’s journey was completely filled with all of the ups and downs of life.
By writing this I wanted to give a review of this book that is minimal and will not spoil the adventure of someone who is going to read it with a fresh mind. This book will give answers to the questions we have with our souls and enhance a beautiful experience to look forward to after a journey ends, another begins.
